S Hotel Montego Bay Named Best All-Inclusive Caribbean Resort for 2026
Jamaica’s tourism recovery continues to gain momentum as one of Montego Bay’s standout properties earns top regional recognition.
Montego Bay, Jamaica — Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett has praised the achievement of S Hotel Montego Bay after it was named the Best All-Inclusive Caribbean Resort for 2026 by USA Today Readers’ Choice 10 Best Awards.
Bartlett also commended Sunset at the Palms Resort in Negril, which secured fourth place in the same ranking, highlighting the strength and resilience of Jamaica’s hospitality sector.
“This is a tremendous accomplishment and welcome news as the tourism sector recovers following the passage of Hurricane Melissa. To remain top of mind among travellers and secure such prestigious accolades is proof of the resilience of our local properties and their continued commitment to excellence.”
The minister’s remarks were made during celebrations marking the seventh anniversary of S Hotel Montego Bay, an event that also featured the launch of recording artiste Suga’s remake of the classic song Montego Bay.
Chris Issa, owner of S Hotel Montego Bay, said the award was especially meaningful following the impact of Hurricane Melissa and noted that this represents the hotel’s third international tourism award in just three months.
“We were hopeful, especially after the effects of Melissa. Winning this award is a positive boost for Jamaica and for our entire tourism industry.”
A broader vision for Montego Bay
Beyond celebrating current achievements, Bartlett also outlined plans for a major transformation of Montego Bay’s tourism landscape. These include a reimagining of the waterfront from the Montego Bay cruise ship pier to Falmouth, the development of two mega hotels in the Rose Hall area, and what was described as the world’s first tourism innovation township in nearby Barrett Town.
While acknowledging that only a portion of Montego Bay’s hotel room stock has reopened since Hurricane Melissa, Bartlett urged patience, noting that Jamaica is rebuilding with a stronger, more diverse tourism product.
Jamaica’s recovery push continues this month with an aggressive international marketing blitz covering New York, Spain (FITUR), London, South America, Canada, and India.
